There are just over four million people
living in Singapore. One quarter of
them are from other nations. It is a hub
of the nations where you can meet and
network with people form all over the
world.
We are thrilled to have our base of ministry in
Southeast Asia located in Singapore. The
island is situated in a strategic position in the
middle of the Southeast Asian theatre of
operations. From Singapore you can reach out
to many countries. To the north, just a ten
minute drive away is Malaysia. To the south,
Indonesia is a one hour boat ride away.
Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, all of these
regions are right next door. As we venture into
each of these countries we see doors of
opportunity to make disciples of all nations and
train the next generation of ministers for Christ.
There are four main languages spoken
in Singapore, Chinese, Malay, Tamil
and English. The Malay language
(Bahasa Malaysia) is much like the
Indonesian language spoken south of
Singapore. I am studying Chinese and
Indonesian.
Singapore is a beautiful and
successful business community. This
city/state/country is a model of
efficiency. The Singaporeans are
hospitable and kind. There are many
Christian churches that are concerned
about reaching the surrounding
nations for Jesus and they need help
to prepare their laborers to do so. We
are eager to teach the principles of
Gospel work and church planting to
God’s people in Asia.
The streets are always filled with
people going to and from their home
and work. The city is alive with culture
and language.
